Without the help of our dedicated volunteers, our work would not be possible. Become part of a passionate team of volunteers, interns and staff in order to support En Vía’s mission. We are always looking for dedicated individuals to join our team. Volunteering

Product Photographer

​

Take photos of our female entrepreneurs products to post on our new online digital directory. You will have the opportunity to travel to all of the communities we work in:  Santa María Guelacé, San Sebastián Abasolo, San Juan Guelavía, Teotitlán del Valle, San Marcos Tlapazola and San Miguel del Valle. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the stories and craftsmanship of all the incredible women involved in En Via. You will then get to directly support them in rebuilding and recovering from the losses due to the pandemic by photographing their products and helping to showcase them to the world. 

  • Language requirements: Intermediate/advanced or fluent in Spanish.

  • Minimum commitment: 6 months or two volunteers for 3 months

  • Lunch on days worked provided

Orientation Tour Guide

​

Orientation Tour Guides showcase our programs and ensure customers know and understand how the organization runs and how important our responsible tourism program is to the functioning of the organization. We currently have tours on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in 6 communities in the Tlacolula Valley: Santa María Guelacé, San Sebastián Abasolo, San Juan Guelavía, Teotitlán del Valle, San Marcos Tlapazola and San Miguel del Valle. We also have private tours in different days.

  • Days/hours: 2-6 tours per month (7 hours per day).

  • Language requirements: Fluent in English.

  • Minimum commitment: 4 months (or longer).

Photographer

​

Photographers will play a crucial role in documenting the progress and development of women in our program and telling their stories. Photographers will participate in a step of the loan process and will be responsible for visiting the women to take a photo of their loan purchases. And they will also take to take documentary photographs showing something of the women’s work and lives. We currently work in the following communities within the Tlacolula Valley: Santa María Guelacé, San Sebastián Abasolo, San Juan Guelavía, Teotitlán del Valle, San Marcos Tlapazola and San Miguel del Valle.

 

  • Days/hours: 2-3 days per week (3-4 hours per day + extra time travelling in public transportation).

  • Language requirements: Intermediate/advanced or fluent in Spanish.

  • Minimum commitment: 2-3 months (or longer).

Internships

 

Communications Intern

​

The Communications Intern will work closely with the general manager in all aspects of En Vía's communications. The intern will be in charge of managing the following platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok, website, communication material, newsletter, and blog. This involves creating original content, posting to the different platforms, analyzing and reporting on our results, and using these findings to develop our strategy. Fundación En Vía is currently implementing the communication plan for the year 2022-2023, for which the social service student is expected to join in supporting its implementation, as well as improving it. You will also work as a tour guide with En Vía and can become part of En Vía's loan collection team (depending on Spanish level).

 

  • Days/hours: Monday to Friday (15-20 hours).

  • Language requirements: Fluent in English. Basic/intermediate Spanish.

  • Minimum commitment: September 2022 - February 2023

Responsible Tourism Intern

​

The Responsible Tourism Intern aids the Responsible Tourism Coordinator in communicating with interested visitors about our programs and tours, managing tour reservations (responding to all tour inquiries, taking tour payments), promoting tours, managing tour financials and assisting with sales of merchandise. You will also work as a tour guide with En Vía and can become part of En Vía's loan collection team (depending on Spanish level).

  • Days/hours: Monday to Friday (9:30 am to 1:30 pm + some afternoons and some Saturdays).

  • Language requirements: Fluent in English and Spanish (oral and written).

  • Minimum commitment: 4-6 months (or longer).
