Josefina began spinning wool at nine years old, learning the ancestral Zapotec art of weaving from her parents. She later began painting and weaving her own designs, working as a supplier for others before launching her independent business eight years ago. Inspired by the creativity required to map out complex patterns and sizes, she transforms wool into authentic, handcrafted rugs, coin purses, bags, and coasters. With the support of EnVía loans for materials and artisan tours, Josefina has established a comfortable home workshop where her craft, family life, and collaboration with her husband and children all beautifully flow together.
