Las Tres Hermanas

Lucila Lázaro Bautista

Lucila has been weaving since she was just 10 years old, having learned from her father. She has been a member of En Vía since its conception, and despite some pauses away from the Foundation, has always found her way back thanks to the freedom the microloans offer her as a business owner. Lucila sells her intricate, vibrant tapetes (rugs), bags, table runners and coasters at the market in Teotitlán, and says that tourists are always astounded at her reasonable prices – especially knowing how much time and labour goes into every piece.
