Taller Textíl Luis & Olga

Olga has been part of the En Vía program for 14 years and runs Taller Textil alongside her husband, Luis. Before joining the program, Olga worked for the casas grandes (large production houses) in Teotitlán del Valle. With her En Vía loans, she has been able to buy her own materials and invest in tools like a sewing machine to grow her business independently. At Taller Textil, Olga and Luis create handmade wool rugs (tapetes de lana) and bags using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Their designs are original, and all colors are naturally dyed using ingredients like indigo, cochineal, and walnut shells. They also welcome custom orders, bringing each client’s vision to life with creativity and craftsmanship.
