Zita runs two businesses in Teotitlán del Valle. Through Alimentos del Pueblo, she provides high-quality bird feed from her home, supporting local poultry owners with trusted products. Under her brand Ladi Gulal, she handcrafts 100% wool tapetes (rugs) in both geometric and pictorial designs, as well as a variety of other artisan goods including bags, table runners, placemats, jorongos (traditional shawls), jackets, capes, and coin purses. Each piece is woven by hand, showcasing the skill and artistry she's learned since she began weaving at just 10 years old. You can also find Zita’s beautiful rugs every Sunday near the Banamex ATM in Tlacolula.
