How to get to
Teotitlan del Valle?
The best way to get to Teotitlan del Valle is the following:
1)Take a bus or a taxi to the Baseball Stadium Eduardo Vasconcelos(Estadio de baseball Eduardo Vascocelos) and walk towards the McDonalds on your right on that main road,carretera internacional Oaxaca Istmo, until you find the taxi stop.
2) There, you can:
Take a taxi colectivo (color dark red with white letters written on their windshields) to Teotitlan del Valle, Tlacolula, Matatlan or Mitla (all taxis have their destination written) and asked to be dropped at the crucero de Teotitlan. It should be around 20-25 Mexican pesos per person, no more than that. And the ride should be no more than 35 minutes. Or, take a bus.
Take the bus to Tlacolula,

There is a big white bus with the word ‘Tlacolula’ on the windshield, it should take around the same time to get to the ‘crucero’ and will charge you $11 pesos per person. A guy designated to charge the fee will come to your seat to charge you.

When you get to the ‘crucero’, cross the yellow pedestrian bridge to the other side, you will find a tree and taxis, moto-taxis and people waiting.

You can take a moto taxi to the church (Iglesia) and it should be around 20-25 pesos per person or less if you are two or more. Be aware moto taxis only take up to three people at a time. The moto-taxi will take you to wherever you tell them to take you.

Taxis are also available, they are the same dark red color and have the word ‘crucero’ on the windshields. A taxi will charge you less, 8 to 10 pesos per person to take you from the crucero to their designated last stop or ‘sitio de taxis’. Be aware that the front seat is used to fit 2 people at the time, so drivers have inactivated the safety belt. We recommend you sit in the back and do not use the front seat. ​

How to get to Tlacolula de Matamoros?

When you get to the crucero, the town will be on your right, right where you get dropped off, then find the ‘big colorful letters’ that read Tlacolula. There, find the mototaxis and ask to be dropped at the Mercado (main market), the mototaxi should charge around 12-15 pesos per person and the ride is around 10 to 15 minutes.
